1. Does my automatic safety pool cover require maintenance?

Yes.  Automatic Cover Systems are the most reliable systems on the market.  However, just like your car, your automatic cover will run better for years to come and be even more reliable if it is regularly maintained.  Keep your cover system free from dirt and debris that can collect in the guides or in the autocover housing.

Just like break pads on your car, pulleys and sliders will wear over time.  Occasionally, changing these parts will help you prevent problems. Automatic Cover System offers a maintenance program and can provide you with an appropriate service plan.

2. Can I walk on my cover?

Yes, your Automatic Cover System is built to hold the weight of several adults.  However, we do not recommend that you walk on your cover. You will also want to notice any signs of wear along the fabric, which over time – could compromise the integrity of the fabric.

3. How can my cover save me money?

An Automatic Cover System can save you money in multiple ways.  Unlike solar covers, our automatic safety covers can be closed in a matter of seconds allowing your pool to be completely sealed when it is not in use.  This prevents evaporation which is the number one contributor to heat loss.  Stopping evaporation saves you money on water and chemicals usage.

4. How do I know when it's time to replace my fabric?

Like anything that is exposed to harsh chemicals and wide variations of environmental conditions, an automatic safety pool cover needs regular maintenance and periodically may need the fabric changed.  There are a few ways to know if your fabric needs to be replaced:

Look for Wear and Tear

Over time, pool chemicals, temperature variations and ultra violet light can break down the cover fabric.  Look for cracks, peeling and weak spots in the fabric where water may be seeping through to the surface.

Touch the Cover Fabric

Pool cover fabric should be pliable and supple.  When the fabric becomes too stiff and brittle, there is a good chance that the integrity of the fabric may be compromised. Walking on such fabric should be avoided.

Inspect the Webbing

The term “webbing” refers to the material at the edge of the fabric cover. Standard pool covers have a sewn webbing. The threads can become frayed, cut, or even disintegrate over time. When the webbing separates from the fabric, the result is cover failure.  Remember, a cover with sewn webbing is only as safe as the stitching that holds it together.

**Automatic Cover System leads the industry with an exclusive heat-sealed, color matched webbing – making it incredibly durable because the webbing is heat-sealed to the fabric, no more popping stiches  or bunching material.

5. Is it really a safety cover?

Yes, we meet the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) requiremetns for a safety cover and meet the requirements for the Barrier Code in many states – allowing our Automatic Cover Systems to be used in lieu of a fence.  Unlike manual pool covers, automatic safety pool covers can be closed in a matter of seconds, allowing your pool can be covered whenever it is not in use.  An Automatic Cover System seals your pool to keep out debris, pets, children, and unwanted guests.

6. What is the Warranty?

Automatic Cover System has the most comprehensive warranty in the industry. Automatic Cover System offers a limited 7-year warranty on its fabric. Our Stainless Steel Eclipse mechanism is covered under a 20-year limited warranty.  CS3000 mechanisms are covered under a 10-year limited warranty.  The motor is covered under a 5-year limited warranty.  Other electrical components are covered under a 3-year limited warranty and our ropes are warrantied for 2 years on new systems.
